Dear all,

I’m Domenico Giusti, a student from the Erasmus Mundus Master in Quaternary and Prehistory at the University of Ferrara.

Here few words about my background: I graduated in Conservation of Cultural Heritage at the University of Perugia with a degree in ethnography and museography. Then I worked some years with local ethnographic museums, specially dealing with cataloging, databases and other information technologies applied to cultural heritage, mainly using Free/Libre and Open Source software.

Since 2010, I’m following courses in Global Positioning System (GPS) and Geographic Information System (GIS) and I’m also very interested in themes like Open Knowledge and Science Commons.

In 2010 I decide to apply for the Cultural Fund of the University of Ferrara, a fund for cultural events and activities promoted by the student of the University of Ferrara, to have the opportunity to get some fund to organize a workshop on Free Software, Open Data and Open Knowledge in Archaeology. Then, I became the project manager of the GNewArchaeology workshop.

So I am glad to invite you to participate to the first GNewArchaeology workshop (and I hope it will not be the last one…)
